    Description

An eclectic group of old bottles that contain a variety of colors of artists pigments. The bottles vary in size and in shape, four of the bottles are quite early being hand blown and with pontil marks on their bases. Two of the bottles have embossing. They are marked - Sanfords Delicious Family Medicine - Ginger (this bottle is cracked) and Sanford's Ess. of Jamaica Ginger Philada. Two of the bottles have a unique cone shape. There are also two bottles of liquid, one is a varnish mixing liquid and the other is unmarked, it has a screw top. There are also two vials with old pigments, these vials are new (I used these containers because the pigments were contained in envelopes that were not very secure). Most of the bottles have cork stoppers, a few have scraps of paper used for the stopper. The largest bottle is 6 3/4" tall, the smallest is 2 7/8" tall. There are 19 bottles in all. The powered colors, as best as I can describe them are : pink, black, charcoal, blue, magenta, brown, white, beige, dark pink, yellow, red, orange, vermillion, tan, green, yellow and dark brown. Please see the photos for details. A great group of antique artists colors and early bottles.
