    This token is of copper and is approximately 27mm in diameter.
    It has the catalog designation LC-48A in Canadian Colonial Tokens (C. Chapados-Girard 2019).
    This token was part of a series brought to Canada in the 1830s by Joseph Tiffin, a Montreal businessman. They bore the date 1812 to avoid running afoul of laws prohibiting the importation of token coinage.
