1830s PONTILED BLOWN MOLD HEAVY FLINT GLASS NAPPY PLATE DIAMOND RING ROLLED RIM

Description

Here's an early blown mold heavy flint glass nappy or plate with crude rolled over rim and rough pontil scar on bottom....hand blown in the 1820s or 1830s at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co or another New England glasshouse....Thick, heavy flint glass.....rough pontil scar on bottom...."diamond diaper" or quilted design with small footed base which has fluted ring around it....5 3/8"round x 1 1/8"tall...crude folded over rolled rim....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean plate. This plate came from an old New Jersey collection of early blown glassware and flasks
