    Description

    Here's an authentic early glasshouse turtle whimsey which was hand made by a glass blower and given away as a gift to someone. It would have been used as a doorstop or paperweight. Shaped like a turtle with rounded back ....We found it in Ohio, so was most likely from an early Ohio glasshouse. The turtle was crudely formed with 4 hand crimped legs.....rich bluish aqua color ....very thick and heavy.....5 1/2"long x 3 3/4"wide x 2 3/4"tall.....Good condition with only a couple chips on feet. A wonderful early antique turtle with nice Ohio provenience....probably Zanesville or a Wheeling,WV glasshouse
