    Description

These clams shells are from the Kwajalein Atoll which is part of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean. In the late 1970's a member of my family spent time at the U.S. military facilities at Kwajalein Island.
The shells were collected at that time and shipped back to United States.
Since then they have been stored in a smoke-free environment.
Included in the set of three clam shells is:
1 Specimen - Fluted Clam - Tridacna Maxima - approximately 4 inches across
2 Specimens - Horse Hoof Clam - Hippopus Maculatus - approximately 3 inches across
Condition - the shells appear to be a "beach finds" so there may be conditions issues including faded color, edge chips, cracks, etc.
The color of the shell is variable.
Nothing has been done to enhance the condition of the shell.
Please review the photographs with this listing to assess the condition of the shell before purchasing.
Let me know if you have any questions.
