    Description

    For sale is a
    beautiful pair of Antique Sioux (Lakota/ Dakota) Beaded Moccasins, with Painted Parfleche Soles, from circa the 1880s.
    The uppers are made of native tanned hide (seems to me all
    buffalo hide
    ) with painted parfleche soles. The uppers are decorated with
    Venetian beads
    , in a typical Sioux (Lakota/ Dakota) design of lines, all
    sinew sewn
    in bead colors white, dark blue, translucent bottle green, translucent red, and faceted metal beads.
    The tongue of the left moccasin is mostly gone and the heel of the left moccasin has a small stiff spot from water damage, please see also the pictures for that. Overall good condition and an attractive pair of 1880s moccasins!
    The moccasins measure each
    circa 9 3/4" x 3 1/2".
