Description
Family heirloom dates back in my family's possession from the late 1930's. It was brought back by a Navy Sailor during World War Two, often during this time trades were made among each other. I believe it is truely a one of a kind rare hand sewed silk Embroidered Chinese Wedding Dress made in 1920, with extraordinarily amazing detail of every hand sewed silk stitch. The embroidery is almost completely covering the outside of this magnificent 2-piece all stitched by hand art work. This outfit must of took month's to make. Signature of the designer who made this is signed inside of the top portion of the outfit. Top is 27" long-2 sections bottom width is 24" each section. Sleeves 23" long from center of top with 8.5" wide each sleeve end and folds over lapping to fasten, 3 knots for fastening top, small area of lace trim has come unsewn. Skirt 36" long-42" wide when opened, each bottom skirt ends are 32" wide and skirt wraps around-has knot missing for fastening. Finding out about the signature I think would greatly help finding the more history on this extraordinary amazing outfit. I have more photos and measurements. There is some damage on the lower bottom inside skirt. Truly a one of a kind, wish I knew more, so beautiful, weigh's 3.5 pounds together. It has been wrapped in a white clean sheet and has been stored in a antique artillery truck. In the 2 photos of the outfit hung together, the skirt piece is not displayed correctly on how it is worn. I have other items brought back from World War Two for sale on Ebay. This particular piece is a magnificent piece of art to be displayed or worn by the finest of grace & beauty. It is a one of a kind. Can anyone tell me what the writing says for person who made this outfit, please ? I also have for sale on this site; pair of Chinese Vintage Feted hand crafted shoes . Non Smoking Home & Pet Free Home.
