DOLLY SISTERS ? ART DECO JAZZ AGE FLAPPER TWINS DANCERPERFORMING MIRROR IMAGE ON STAGE This one is a real beauty who I think but am not totally sure are the famous Rosie and Jenny that made up the act known as The Dolly Sisters the Darlings Of The Jazz Age both in the
United States
and across
Europe
. They appear in dressed in extremely short dresses and are posed in one of their famous “mirror” images of each other. In 1910 they appeared at The Ziegfeld Follies for two seasons where they delighted audiences and at the Moulin Rouge in
Paris
they were getting paid 00.00 each, per night. Their lifestyle was quite dramatic both on and off the stage. Jenny was quite a gambler she won 4 million francs at the casino in
Cannes
, in one night, and went on to win another million the next night. She also won 0,000 at the Horse track, 0.000 at Baccarat and 0,000 at the Roulette Wheel all in a nights work. After working 18 years on the stage they retired in 1929. The condition is overall nice and crisp without any visible wear. Perfect in every way. The reverse side of the card is blank. This is not a modern reproduction but is a period black and white image. Original images
of The Dolly Sisters are quite hard to come by. Again, I believe these are the famous Dolly Sisters but am NOT totally sure. Bidders must take this into consideration and use their own judgement before bidding. The high bidder will be fully aware of this when purchasing this item.
A nice addition to any Dolly Sisters , Jazz Age , Flapper , Dancer , Performer , or Nightclub , collection. Don’t let this one get away. High bidder agrees to pay additional .07 postage which is a fixed rate good towards the purchase of any 1 to 15 cards from my listings over a 7 day period. Good luck to all bidders. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Also please check my "other auctions".
