Description
One set of 2 gauge battery cables for EZGO PDS 48 volt cart with 6 eight (6x8) volt battery conversion setup. (This is NOT FOR SERIES drive carts. Series carts have 3 more cables and cost more. If you have a series message me and I will post you a special listing!) This set has been custom cut for those who convert their EZGO TXT PDS from 36V to 48V and works for the 48V factory cart. (Some battery manufacturers use different locations for their posts, and thus your kit may need slight modification) It includes all needed battery cables, main + and - cables, and solenoid cable. This kit is setup for US Battery post locations, however it should fit other battery manufacturers as well as most posts are the same, unless you are using some seriously cheap batteries. Due to the short nature of the 5th battery cables, this set alone will not work on a 36V cart. If you want this set for your 36 volt cart before you swap, let me know and I can add an additional wire for an additional cost that will allow you to use it until you do the swap. These wires are made from premium 2 gauge welding wire with blue insulation. The connectors are 2 x 5/16 solid copper tinned lugs. (I don't use cheap connectors on my big gauge wires! Make sure you don't get the big gauge wire with crappy little connectors like so many here on eBay do!) Each wire is made custom in my golf cart shop by me. Each one is soldered using silver solder connections, and then sealed with quality heat shrink to help prevent future corrosion issues. There are 10 wires included; Four (4) twelve inch cables and One (1) 4 inch cable for the battery pack; Two (2) 46 inch cables for motor to controller, one (1) 28 inch main positive cable, one (1) 26 inch main negative post connection, and One (1) 6 inch for controller to solenoid. Other sellers are selling longer cables or more cables for the same setup......so they can charge you more. Welding wire is commonly sold by the foot, so the longer the wire you buy the higher the price. Your factory EZGO cables are made as short as possible, why make them longer? More wire means the current has to run through greater resistance in order to reach its final destination, your motor. The reason we upgrade from the factory 6 gauge is to get better flow with less resistance to get the best possible results in battery life, and to increase potential speed and torque......why make your battery pack work harder sending the current through more wire and greater resistance??? I build custom carts all day long. I service all makes and models, all day long. I always use the shortest possible battery cables for many reasons, but the two main reasons are 1) to save my customer money 2) to help maintain quality battery pack lifespan and function. If you need or want a different size, just ask and I can custom make you a set of any length you desire. Also, if you would prefer to upgrade to solid copper non-tinned lugs just let me know and I'll setup your item with those instead of the tinned lugs. I have sets for all battery configurations, and for controller to motor or controller to solenoid or for all power wires in the cart power system. I will include a basic diagram for the battery configuration in this auction to aid you in your install, should you forget which wires go where and I am always available via email for assistance in installation. Any questions just ask! Shipping will be via USPS Flat rate envelope , which I include FREE so you'll have you're cables in 2-3 days, not a week or more. Check out the pictures to see the quality! You also get my full support should you need help via email with my cables. And my customers get the type of service I'd expect from vendors I deal with. If something goes awry, I'll make it right, period.
This item is made specifically for 36V to 48V conversions on the EZGO PDS style cart with 6x8 configuration. You MUST USE the TXT48 battery configuration, the standard 36V configuration does NOT work. It will not likely fit anything else exactly. I also make these cables for other conversions, just ask!!
*I have included a photo of a rollover that happened to one of my customers. The reason I include this is to show the strength of the cables and the benefit of having such strong cables. These batteries were ejected when the factory battery hold downs failed. With cheap cables, the batteries would have be thrown all around and acid would have gone everywhere. But the strength of the cables kept the battery pack together which keeps the passengers safer in the case of a rollover event like this. This is not a feature I recommend trying by any means, however this shows the true strength of good soldered cables over crimped units. And if you're wondering, the driver walked away unharmed and after inspecting them, the cables were determined to be undamaged and were reused.*
