LOT OF 2 BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE EARLY 20th CENTURY CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK PANELS “RANK BADGES”!
Up for the auction are 2
beautiful vintage from the early 20th century Chinese embroidered silk panels executed in the style of Chinese civil officials rank badges. The embroidery features birds standing on a rock above lishui border with rolling waves and surrounded with Buddhist auspicious symbols.
The embroidery executed in satin stitches (multicolored threads) and couching technique (golden metallic threads).
Each of the panel with 2 “rank badges” measures 16 2/8” (41.2 cm) x 8” (20.3 cm).
Extremely finely worked pieces- just look at the pictures!
