You’ll never find a more simple way to measure a golf clubs swingweight. Ball bearing supported fulcrum with a built in bubble level. The adjustable leg makes leveling the arm a snap. Once the fixture is set up, you can add or remove weight and see the resulting impact on the club’s swingweight in real time. Images are computer renderings. Our new V3 version still uses a powder coated aluminum arm for rigidity with 3D printed ends and fulcrum mounting base. We’ve modified the bubble level mounting to make it visible from either side of the scale. Now the fixture can be set up to point right or left. In addition, we’ve added a “Cam-Loc” clamp to make the club easier to load and lock in place. Lastly, the club sets about 1/2” higher in the fixture to give a little more clearance.
Use a quality digital scale for the most accurate readings. Look for a scale with a solid surface on top. These scales have multiple load cells attached to the feet of the scale which makes these type of scales better at handling a concentrated load. Avoid the scales with an elevated top as they have a single load cell and do not handle concentrated, off center loads accurately.
