Description
TR-2B,
Breton 560
Countermarked J McK
Ex. Partrick (Bought it in 1990 from Margolis). Ex.
McKay-Clements (Sale from 1976, lot 84(Pictured)), before that it was from the CNA 1965 sale.
Corrosion, Research shows that this issue might have been recovered from a burial site, hence the corrosion.
A bit darker in hand.
6.29 g (Could have been the token G from Some Particulars Concerning the Lauzon Ferry and Its Token by Christopher Faulkner, published in the Canadian Numismatic Research Society in the Transactions 2014. It has the same weight. (however it is worth noting that Faulkner didn't list the McKay-Clements sale in his bibliography for some reason)). Regarding the weight, it probably points out not to be lead but white metal instead as lead is much heavier.(We are mentioning this because the cataloger Frank Rose wrote that it was lead.)
