Vintage Chinese embroidered silk robe
Estimated to date to the lates 1930s / early 1940s due to faded cloth label stamped Made in China
Beautiful hand-sewn robe of black silk fabric with floral damask pattern
Extensively decorated with silk embroidery, including large medallions of embroidery
Featuring squash/pumpkin and bat/moth motif and floral design elements
Trimmed with embroidered silk ribbon
Wide band of embroidered blue silk adorn opening of both sleeves
Five cast metal gold-tone buttons (metal untested)
Measurements of robe lying flat as follows:
Shoulder to shoulder 20”
Armpit to armpit 21”
Neck (across) 7”
Back of collar to hem 38.5”
Sleeve length 16”
With some fraying, popped stitches, soil/spots and expected age-related wear, no mold odors, missing top two loops for buttons
