Welcome to our listing for this
beautiful vintage/retired style horse lapel pin (tie tac).
This was in our family member's collection (animal/equine lover!) and dates back to 1990 (per marking on back of pin). This was handed down to us in their pin collection.  The pin color is silver (costume jewelry) with nice details on the horse's mane and tail.
Marking on back has name of designer/company (/)  "Epply??" and "1990".  Under magnification, the name is still difficult to discern.

We have been downsizing many of our collectibles and other rediscovered "finds" due to our significant move/downsize- Due to the pandemic, we downsized even more.  We have many fun relics from yesteryear.  We have many more pins, pinbacks and tie-tacs from our lifelong collection- in addition to a variety we inherited (such as this one). Gentle use- has some minor surface scratching and rubbing off of finish, from wear and storage.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit THE GENTLE BARN, a caring and compassionate refuge for severely abused and neglected larger animals to receive rehabilitation and live out their lives- they also take in many orphaned animal babies and many more that have made their way to the Gentle Barn (this year, they rescued a large 'egg' that was abandoned on a golf course, nurtured and helped it hatch- the gosling was a federal protected bird that was later carefully released to the wild when ready to join a family group of it's own species that welcomed the sweet creature in).  Many of those rescued are former race horses, dairy cows, "backyard butcher" survivors, piggy and cow babies born in slaughterhouses, animals that are being disposed of after the "pumpkin patch" and their petting zoo leaves town, turkeys reared with antibiotics to fatten them up for Thanksgiving, and more. The Gentle Barn works tirelessly to provide a voice, an advocate, and most importantly, a safe and happy home for these creatures.  The mission of this organization is authentic and kind- they treat all of God's creatures with kindness and respect.  They also work closely with at risk youth, to help build their self-confidence and show them love, respect and dignity. Gentle Barn is an integral part of our community. Gentle Barn now has three locations: in California, Tennessee and Missouri. Visitors are welcome and it's a magical sanctuary (pre-pandemic). Proceeds raised help provide food, necessities and medical care to the rescued residents- and the need in the pandemic is even more dire.
